Craniosacral Therapy and Somatic Trauma Therapy

I work with people who want to feel more comfortable in their own skin. They may feel overwhelmed, numb or disconnected and experiencing symptoms of PTSD. I also work with people who are in recovery from various forms of addiction.

I have trained extensively in Somatic Therapy, Craniosacral Therapy and have undertaken additional training to work with Psychosexual Issues and Addiction

My approach combines somatic (body-based) and psychological approaches to cultivate a deeper physical presence with more awareness of the relationship between body and mind.

Since 2003, I have practiced in clinics across Sussex including 12 years in a residential hospital within the NHS. I am accredited through the Craniosacral Therapy Association and follow their codes of ethics. I previously taught Craniosacral Therapy for over a decade and now teach post graduate workshops for therapists in the UK.

I’m available at The Open Door Clinic on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. For more information or to arrange an appointment call me on 07731 549836.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy is a hands-on therapy with gentle, sustained contact through the client’s clothing. Cranial work offers a way of being held that is reassuring and encourages physical presence so that tension, emotions and psychological states can be explored and processed.

Somatic Therapy

Somatic Therapy is a psychosomatic approach to process the physical responses to traumatic experiences. Exploring how our psychological and emotional states are expressed in the body through sensations, feelings and movements builds awareness and also integrates the residual effects of trauma that can remain long after the initial traumatic experience.

Psychosexual Issues

I offer a space to explore the ways in which psychosexual issues affect relationships and the sense of self. I work with people who are recovering from trauma, people who are experiencing sexual difficulties in their relationships and people who are in recovery from a range of sexual addictions. My approach is holistic with a respect and sensitivity to the whole person and the importance of boundaries.
