Emma Hendricks

Counselling MBACP (Accred)

My name is Emma and my journey into counselling began over 6 years ago now both as I delved into areas of challenge and hardship in my own life, simultaneously growing in admiration and understanding for how having a safe space through counselling can provide us with the tools, co-regulation and non-judgmental listening ear we need to sift through our circumstances and make contact with our true, authentic nature always present at our core.

Emma Hendricks Counsellor

I have since qualified as a counsellor myself, working integratively to support a wide variety of individuals through:

  • Life transitions

  • Grief

  • Health challenges

  • Anxiety

  • Addiction

  • Relational issues

  • Attachment based trauma

It's been amazing to see in my own journey, and now with clients too, how the unique space offered in counselling work can help us to make shifts in our life we never thought possible.

My approach aims to be warm, collaborative and integrative. Drawing from person-centred counselling alongside approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed practice and compassion-focused work. I tailor therapy to you rather than expecting you to fit a particular model and hope to create an environment where you feel accepted, understood and supported, while also helping you discover new perspectives, strengthen your resilience and move towards the life you want to live.

I am also trained as a coach, so should you ever want to shift into more goal-oriented or future focused work, that is always something we can discuss too, without you having to search for a new practitioner to support you. Counselling and coaching together can be a powerful combination to help us work through the past, navigate the present, and launch us into our desired future from a place of being truly supported, rooted in our values, and at home within ourselves.

It would be a great pleasure to meet with you, hear what’s coming up for you at this time, and see if I might be a good fit to support you.

I do both online and in-person sessions, so do get in touch and we can find a time and space that suits you best.
