Advanced Hypnotherapist, NLP Practitioner and Clinical Supervisor

Since qualifying as a hypnotherapist in 2008, I’ve given thousands of treatments over the past 17 years, and have seen how powerfully people can change when the mind and nervous system are supported. This personal experience is reflected in an expanding body of evidence-based research, showing that hypnotherapy can regulate the nervous system, reduce anxiety and help release long-established subconscious patterns.

The following are some of the areas that can be helped through hypnotherapy:

  • Addictions – smoking or vaping, sugar cravings and emotional eating, screen and mobile phone overuse, gaming dependence, caffeine reliance and alcohol overuse.

  • Unwanted habits – nail biting, hair pulling (trichotillomania), skin picking, teeth grinding, repetitive overthinking patterns and other long-standing behaviours that feel hard to change.

  • Fears and phobias – flying, spiders, heights, driving, medical or dental procedures, public speaking, social situations and other specific fears that create avoidance or distress.

  • Unwanted beliefs and confidence issues – low confidence, low self-esteem, imposter syndrome, fear of failure, performance anxiety, procrastination and long-held limiting beliefs.

  • Pain relief – chronic pain, long-term musculoskeletal pain, headaches and migraines, post-surgical discomfort and pain linked to tension, stress or emotional holding.

  • Anxiety and panic attacks – general anxiety, panic attacks, health anxiety, anticipatory fear and stress-related emotional overwhelm.

  • Stress management – everyday stress, burnout, emotional overload, difficulty switching off, and support through high-pressure or one-off stressful events.

  • Fertility support – emotional and psychological blockages to conception, natural fertility support, IVF and IUI preparation, and enhancing the mind–body connection during treatment cycles.

  • Menopausal wellbeing – reducing hot flushes, with Randomised Controlled Trials (such as Freedman et al., 2008) showing up to a 74% reduction in hot flush frequency and a 77% reduction in severity, as well as support for sleep, easing anxiety and mood changes. I also work with identity transitions using Parts Theory to help women integrate the parts that are leaving and the new parts that are emerging during peri-menopause, menopause and post-menopause.

  • IBS and digestive health – calming the autonomic nervous system, reducing gut sensitivity and stress-related symptoms, informed by research such as Gonsalkorale et al. (2003), in which 76% of patients experienced improvement.

  • Insomnia and sleep difficulties – helping people fall asleep more easily, stay asleep longer and reduce night-time anxiety or overthinking, especially where sleep issues are linked to hyper-arousal or stress.

  • Creative blockages – quietening the analytical mind, and allowing creative flow for writers, artists, performers and professionals experiencing blockages.

I am a full member of the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR), and an acknowledged supervisor and Advanced Hypnotherapist with the organisation. I have also been a practising Traditional Chinese Medicine acupuncturist for 29 years.
