How I Work
My name is Amy and I am an experienced EMDR practitioner and counsellor. I am a warm and empathic therapist working from a person-centred approach. I can offer you a calm, compassionate space to explore your difficulties and I use EMDR to help you to overcome the emotional impact of distressing past experiences through safely processing memories.
What is EMDR?
It is a therapy that facilitates your own natural healing and recovery process after you have experienced trauma. It uses tools and techniques that kick-start your brain to reprocess distressing events in your life and safely store these memories so that you no longer experience distress and disturbance.
What can EMDR help me with?
To safely process traumatic events in your life.
To reduce triggers in the present day, caused by events in the past.
To relieve distress and the emotional impact and intensity of feelings surrounding events and memories.
EMDR can help with various issues including:
PTSD
Phobias
Trauma of different kinds
Childhood abuse
Anxiety
Depression
Addictions
My fee is £75 for a one-hour session.
I am a registered practitioner with BUPA, WPA and AVIVA.
